Introduction: Today, we have a pure partnership to shine a light on — Simplicity VoIP and P2P Tech — in an interview with Dave George. What’s unique is that P2P Tech was so impressed with what Simplicity VoIP does that they asked to do a case study/testimonial to show their appreciation and get the word out as much as possible about the excellent work Simplicity VoIP is doing and their commitment to partners. Although you’ll learn about the background of Dave George, founder and CEO of P2P Tech, you’ll also get the inside scoop on what makes Simplicity VoIP a best-in-class provider and a company you need to consider doing business with.
Background: Dave George is the founder and CEO of P2P Tech. P2P Tech is a niche software development DevOps, SecOps, and Tier 3 and Tier 4 support organization that specializes in NetSapiens. Within P2P Tech, they launched an omnichannel customer experience and engagement software called HELIOS, OmniCX Simplified. Before P2P Tech, Dave was the Senior Vice President and General Manager of NetSapiens.
Now that the groundwork has been laid for the present accomplishments, let’s rewind the tape and take it back to the beginning of this 4th generation telecom family. Dave’s great-grandfather started a small shop named Ironton Telephone, an independent local exchange carrier (ILEC) in Eastern Pennsylvania, to serve his local community. Additionally, their family was among the first to enter the cable TV industry in the late 40s and early 50s. From that growth, by the 1990s, they got involved with forming an ISP and laid approximately 11,000 miles of fiber to about 750,000 modems.
From those beginnings, three generations later, Dave has risen to be an industry titan, looking to solve seemingly any issue and consult with any company that comes knocking. This man truly loves what he does and couldn’t imagine doing anything else. Well, that’s not entirely true. Dave is an avid martial arts master, specifically a sixth Don in Jiu Jitsu. He loves to scuba dive, sail, and many other adventurous activities, so technically, he could go pro in those things, but telecom is in his blood! It’s safe to say that Dave learned to push the envelope in everything he does from a very young age.
First Impression: Years before P2P Tech and Simplicity VoIP began their current working relationship, Dave traveled down to Richmond, Virginia, to speak with Ben Humphreys, President and CEO of Simplicity VoIP, and Amy Humphreys, VP of Marketing & Agent Enablement. When Dave visited , he was struck with the level of unity, “Upon meeting Ben, Amy, and the whole team there, they’re just a strong solid team. There’s an aspect of cohesion, ... in the way they work with each other,” recalled Dave.
Partnership: As an enhancement of their current team of Tier 2 and Tier 3 engineers, Simplicity VoIP is a client of P2P Tech, and P2P Tech handles their escalated and Tier 3 and Tier 4 NetSapiens support expanding the depth of technical expertise and to drive resolution more expeditiously. This vantage point allows them to see all sides of the interaction and complete inner workings of the company and their philosophies. This matters because you want the company you support to be as engaged as Simplicity VoIP. Dave George continues, “It’s not to say other companies don’t have connection, but the Simplicity team wears it on their sleeves they ... have a strong work ethic.”
In everything Simplicity VoIP does, it cares about the service and experiences their clients and partners receive. Unlike other vendors or manufacturers that just turn on a system and hope for the best, the Simplicity team takes the time to test, document, and then give the vendor or manufacturer feedback. This detail translates into a better product and experience for their customers, who are the partners. In turn, this attention to detail trickles down to the partners’ customers. As Dave explains further, “…it’s a cascading effect; they dropped a stone in the pond, and the ripple effects represent their dedication. I don’t think they realize they’re creating a much better experience for everyone.”
Perspective: Simplicity VoIP has created such a stable and complete business that you may think they don’t take risks, but that’s not true. They have been in the telecommunications world long enough to hone their processes, which allows them to research and consider the latest technology coming down the pike. They embrace a forward-thinking strategy but will never implement something that hasn’t been vetted and tested to ensure no harm will be done. “Their slogan unknowingly is, ‘let’s make things better’ because that’s what they do. They evaluate, they provide feedback, and it makes things better,” exclaimed Dave George.
Wrapping up: It’s refreshing to see that as important as business is, it comes down to how you treat people and the intentions behind what you do. In closing, Dave said, “I like to find things (and companies) that can help people. The Simplicity team helps their customers and their partners, without any doubt.” If you want a company that stands by what they sell and treats everyone the way they should be treated, then Simplicity VoIP is who you need to consider for future needs.
