Simplicity VoIP v41 Upgrade Feature Review, Improves Efficiency, Part 1

To ensure you are getting the most out of your phone system, our Simplicity engineers are releasing a new software update! On September 30, 2020, the v41 release will be available to current and new Simplicity VoIP clients.

This update includes loads of new features to improve efficiency and accessibility, and most are for no additional costs.

The first pillar of the v41 upgrade revolves around improving the efficiency of our services. We dug deep and asked ourselves how we could improve user productivity while maintaining ease of use. 

Says what you Type: New Text to Speech Feature

The new Text to Speech feature from Simplicity allows the user to transform typed sentences or words into audible speech. With unified audio voices, multiple languages and accents to select from, sending audio messages has never been easier. It is a versatile feature, useful for greetings, menu prompts, messages while on hold, and many more. Less Numbers, More Words: New SpeechDirect Feature

The new SpeechDirect feature gives the user access to speech detection technology. Now, if you reach an auto attendant or a company directory, you can access departments and employees by simply saying a name or a selected keyword. For callers, it’s an easy hands-free experience, and for admins it’s an easily deployable system with keyword customization options. An Admin’s Dream: Sites and Site Manager Feature

Managing a multi-location business can be hard work, especially when you only have limited tools to do the job. The Sites and Site Manager feature was made to give site admins all the tools they need to manage their specific site. You can now manage almost everything at the site level: phone numbers, resources, users, call queues, conference bridges, call history. Go Paperless: Simplicity VFax – Coming Soon

VFax is an integrated electronic fax offering that enables the sending and receiving of documents through the Simplicity portal. Rather than the hassle of a traditional fax machine, the cloud-based VFax allows faxing to be done anywhere, and anytime through the portal, and through email. It comes with some nifty features, such as the ability to retain DID ownership, see incoming and outgoing faxes, support cover letters, and the ability to brand and customize color prices. There are a slew of pricing options depending on the volume of faxes you intend to send, but a significant benefit of this new feature is that all incoming faxes are received at no cost. Accessible behind a single pane: SimplicityVAULT

VAULT allows the user to store recorded calls or meetings for longer than the standard 90 days. It’s incredibly easy to use, as storage and retrieval can be done from anywhere with no on-prem equipment needed. Entirely cloud-based and stored in AWS servers, VAULT offers significantly more security, with less hassle than on-prem storage. Rapidly deployable, it does not require CapEx spend, and can store calls for up to ten years. Calls are recorded at the highest possible quality. Calls are incredibly easy to find, as you can locate recordings via a call history lookup by date, time, and phone number. It maintains compliance programs, such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA/HITECH, FedRAMP, EU Data Protection Directive, and FISMA, to help meet regulatory requirements.
