Lenada Crabb Celebrates 15 Year Anniversary at Comtel Communications & Simplicity VoIP
On May 11, 2020, Lenada Crabb celebrated her anniversary of 15-years with Comtel Communications and Simplicity VoIP. To commemorate this significant milestone in her career as well as highlight her contributions to Comtel and Simplicity, we want to shine the spotlight on Lenada and celebrate her.
Ben Humphreys, CEO of Comtel Communications and Simplicity VoIP said, “It has been one of the highlights of my career to watch Lenada grow and develop from an intern to the Director of Simplicity VoIP’s Client Services department. She is a customer focused, results oriented manager. Congratulations on your 15-year mark Lenada!”
Q: What did you do before arriving at Comtel?
A: I was a full-time college student and bartender. I also worked briefly at Circuit City in the inside sales department.
Q: What is your current role at Comtel & Simplicity?
A: I was just promoted to be Simplicity’s Director of Client Services.
Q: How long have you been in the telecom industry?
A: 15 years. When I started, I was completely new to the telecom industry.
Q: How have you seen the telecom industry evolve in the past 15 years?
A: When I first started, we were doing a lot of switched long distance, POTs lines, dial up and T1 connections. Now we have circuits with much more bandwidth, SD WAN, VoIP and the list goes on.
Q: What were some of the other roles you have had with this company?
A: I have always been a part of the Client Services team, primarily as a rep handling moves, adds, changes and trouble tickets.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your work?
A: What I enjoy most is helping our customers with their telecommunication needs, whether it’s help setting up their phone system, making changes or helping with any issue they may be having.
Q: Wow, 15 years! Most people only stay with a company for 5 years, much less 15, what has kept you with the Comtel Simplicity family?
A: The work environment and all of the people I work with has been the glue. Together, I think we really are a great team.
Q: As you reflect on the past years with Comtel, what stands out about your experience with the company?
A: Overall, the experience has been great. We’ve had some challenging moments, but we overcame them. We are definitely encouraged to do more than we think we are capable of doing. When we first talked about managing our own switch, I was scared. However, together as a team, we accomplished it, and hopefully we will just continue to grow.
Q: Comtel is a family for you literally, because your mother, Tami, works here as well. In fact, Tami has worked for the company for 20+ years. Do you work closely together? Is it nice to have a family member in the office?
A: Well the funny thing is I hardly see her at the office anymore. Her office is located where I call “Executive Lane” and I don’t go down there often. Most days, I say hi as she is coming in the office and bye when we’re leaving. There are occasions where we may get to chat a little depending on what’s going on and how busy we are that day.
Thank you Lenada, we are all so happy for your significant achievement!
